Reboot!

The Corner is now rebooting and soon open for business again!

Oh how I’ve waited to put this post out there.

It’s has been way too long, but now it seems that the hiatus has finally come to an end.

It has been exactly 528 days since the hiatus went into effect, and the rum world has changed more than I could have imagined in the meanwhile.

So instead of starting with a review, I thought I’ld take a look at what has actually happened since I was last here.

Hiatus!

Due to a lot of different circumstances, a hiatus is currently in effect on the Rum Corner. I'm not gone. Just away on leave. There will be more rumporn on this site in the future. Until then enjoy the previous works and stay tuned. Make sure to follow the facebook-page as updates will most likely arrive there first. Cheers.

New scoring system and re-scoring

Big news everyone!

One of the reasons I haven't been able to release as many reviews as I would have liked in the recent months, is this: I have been working on switching to the more widely used scoring system, to make it possible for my readers to compare my scores to other reviewers.

Hello world!

Hi, my name is Henrik and I hail from Denmark - that tiny viking country squished between Germany, Norway and Sweden.

Some years ago a dear friend of mine introduced me to the world of rum.
Until that point my only experiences with rum had been in drinks in bars.
On his honeymoon he went on a cruise in the caribbean and fell in love with the sweet nectar that existed over there and on a later occasion he relayed the tale on to a couple friends.

A whole new world started to take form as he trotted out the spoils of his caribbean raid and it did not take long before I was convinced. Many friends had already found a liking towards whiskies and cognacs - but that was never really my thing. With rum I had suddenly found a poison to call my own.
